Advice to Myself and Others

Some things that have been on my mind lately that I've been trying to or want to work on.

-Treat others how you want to be treated.

-EVERYONE'S opinion is important, even if you disagree.

-Be true to yourself.

-Just because your problems seem bigger or more obvious doesn't mean that other people's problems are less important or difficult.

-Listen to people.

-Seek first to understand, then to be understood.

-All that fighting fire with fire has ever done was destroy things. Try a different approach.

-Treat everyone like they're important.

-Genuinely love and care about people.

-Take a little bit of time each day just to yourself. You'll have time to think and get to know and love yourself more.

-Get rid of irrational fears, they'll only hold you back.

-Believe that you will live up to your full potential. Every dream is possible if you believe it and pursue it.

-HAVE FUN!

-Make choices that you are proud of.

-Learn to love yourself and others expecting nothing in return. If you don't expect things from others, you'll be pleasantly surprised as to how much more willing they'll be to return the love.

TSTI Reunion!

Last summer and the summer before I did High School Musical and High School Musical 2: On Stage down at Tuacahn. They were seriously the best 2 summers of my life! Loved the people I met, loved the place, loved what I was doing. I seriously just loved all of it!
This summer I wasn't with any of my HSM or HSM 2 friends and I was seriously having withdrawls, so what did I do? Plan a reunion of course! It was super fun and gave me a reason to go down to St. George. Not nearly everyone was able to come, but for the most part I saw everyone that I wanted to. Here are some pics from the reunion!
Kyle and me heading down to good ol' St. Geezy.

Broken down car= no bueno.

The nice man who helped us.

Taylor holding the remains of the cake that Kyle made for the drive down.

Skimboarding!
(Well, some people skimboarded, some people tried it once and then decided "Oh hell no!" :D)

The gang at the river.

Me and Kyle in the waterfall.

Shut the shet nah!
I fetchin love Sceri!

The underwater rocks in the river were super slippery, so we slid down them, naturally.

*Crazy cat face*

I unfortunately paid $50 to see this show...

What can I say, people just can't keep their hands off of me.

Awww....presh.

I love these people so much!

Reebs and me playing at "the beach."

After the reunion was over, we headed back up north.
Kyle and me went to Lagoon the next day to see Jer's show and hang out.

In line for Wicked.

Jer, Kyle, Chelsea, and Me in line for The Spider.

only pictures can describe my life right now

I'm too lazy to write a full blog about what's been going on in my life right now.
So here's a short summary of the past couple of days in pictures.

That is indeed me dressed as a ballerina for Bye Bye Birdie.

Jer with lemon breasts. Yup.

Me with some of the gang at the Gorge!

We're mermaids!

I don't know why I find this picture so amusing but I do.
Zack showing me where to jump so that I don't hit the rocks.

Superheroes!

Some good ol' roomie lovin'

The day at the Gorge was cut short by a storm, so we decided to have a party in our bathtub.

Ashley (Amber's twin) joined us in the bath tub and in a traditional "hump face" picture.

Been a while...

It's been a while since I've posted on here. Oops! I don't think very many people read this anyway, but those of you who do, I'm sorry.

I'm in Utah right now- Yay!!! I actually went home home, as in Spanish Fork, this weekend. I went to my friend Leisl's show and to her birthday party, it was fun, weird being back around some of my old high school friends. It's just so crazy to me that in high school it seems like you and your friends are pretty much living the same life and then how completely different you all get from each other after high school. I spent some quality time with the fam and last night I hung out with 2 of my favorite boys-- Craig and Christian!!! I have missed them oh so much! I'm still at Craig's right now and getting ready to go up to Lagoon to hang out with Jer and the ever wonderful Miss Angela Graham!

Birdie opened last week and has been going great, I wish we had bigger audiences, but people in Rock Springs don't care enough to take time out of their summers to come see shows, but it's all good, the audiences that we have had so far have been great.

Just half an hour ago I finished my final for my online Computer Info Systems class!!! Hallelujah! Now let's see if I pass...

Loaf-N-Jug

The run through of Birdie went really well tonight!!! It's all coming together, I'm just worried about the technical aspects of it mostly. The fact that the only crew we have is us is kind of scary, we just have no one to move the sets for the scenes that we're all on for!

After the run through we went to the Loaf-N-Jug (aka Tit-N-Toast, aka Boob-N-Bread) and got some slurpees/milkshakes/wraps/etc. I swear we're in there at least twice a week!

The main point of this blog is to get you to subscribe to my new Youtube channel. I'll be putting on lots of different funny vids from WWCC (Fat Dawgs, Trash Family, and whatever else happens.) Please subscribe and watch!!! ** http://www.youtube.com/user/InTheRocks101 **

Trashy Fam

So, today I finally went into the counseling center and set up an appointment for next Tuesday! I'm excited and happy that I'm finally going to get help for myself, but also really nervous that I won't know what to say or do at a counseling session? Is that a dumb fear to have? Either way, I'm going, ah! I don't know why I'm so scared of going to counseling or why I'm afraid of people thinking that I'm a complete crazy person because I'm going to counseling. I guess I'll just have to get over it.

Today we're doing run throughs of Bye Bye Birdie. I can't believe we open on Monday!!! WOW!!! It'll be a good show, I just want it to be ready and open already.

I tried to post a video that me and my roomies filmed randomly today but it didn't work, so here's the youtube link:

We randomly started having this "Trashy Family" thing a week or so ago and it just randomly happens. We got a tiny bit of it filmed this time just for funsies. Enjoy!

pointless blog....

Today has been a fantastic day! I just had a wonderful late night wing session at Applebee's with the fantastic summerstock gang! :) I love them all sooooo much!

Some of tonight's top-rated quotes:

-You see, I got herpes for the Lord. -Amber McNew

-Either yer hair's eatin' apples or ya got critters in yer hair! -Me

-I've got chocolate all over my face.
You've got chocolate all over your body. I think you're turning brown!
He is brown.
-Austin, Me, and Amber

Okay, so some of these don't seem so funny but they were I promise. . . . . awkward.

Today we had Birdie rehearsals, I can't believe we open in less than a week! So nervous! But it'll all come together....at least that's what we keep telling ourselves.

Wow. Totally pointless blog.

Goodnight.

A Weekend In Utah!

The kid's show is over now! :( So happy, but so sad at the same time. Meh. Here are some pictures from working on the kid's show.

Some of the staff and cast on 80's dress up day!

Me and Emily stringing popcorn for Annie Jr.
It had been a long day if you can't already tell from my haggard appearance and paint covered clothes/body. It was about 2:30 am and I had been going since 9 am.

Chillin' backstage (looking like a haggard-A crumunchin) with some of the cast and crew of Millie Jr.
Zack, Taylor, and I with the one and only BONNIE! Love her!

Me and some of the kid's from Millie Jr.

Birdie opens in a week! Ah! Kind of freaking out a little but I know that everything will fall into place and work out. :)

I had a much needed weekend away from Wyoming. It was nice, although parts of it were not so nice. It sometimes sucks learning things about yourself that you'd rather not. And being an emotional mess in front of people you hardly even know.... embarrassing. Definitely going to see a counselor here at the college.....finally. But I spent the weekend at Jer's house and got to see his show again as well as Angie's show at Lagoon! Phenomenal! I have some amazingly talented friends!

Tonight when I got back from Utah, Amber, Anna, and I all put on cute summery dresses, make mini sandwiches, and drank apple juice from a cute little polka-dotted tea set that I bought and watched Alice in Wonderland! LOVE IT! LOVE THEM!

Children's Shows Opened = Happiness

Tonight was the first (of only two, thank goodness!) of the nights of the kids' shows!

Annie Jr: For Annie I am in charge of the Stage Left crew. Our side of the stage did pretty well I would say. (Except for forgetting to bring the escape stairs out of the shop. Oops. Don't worry, we got them on in time.) But other than that no major glitches on our part. The show tech-wise as a whole though...show from HELL!!! Everything that could possible go wrong did go wrong.
Examples:
-The music for "Tomorrow" stopping in the middle of the song.
-Painfully long set changes.
-Fly rails getting stuck.
-Missing light cues.
-Crazy children not knowing when to go on and expecting the tech crew to know.
-Crazy diva children.
-Crazy children oblivious to large set pieces coming their way and people trying to get them to move out of the way until they have to be physically picked up off the ground and moved.
-Children all together, can we just run the show without them? Lol! Jk!

Millie: I am stage managing Millie (meaning for the run of the show I'm calling all of the cues.) Millie went VERY well. No major mess ups. Yup. Much happier with Millie. Lovely. And in this show there are only 40 teenagers, much better than 70 children under the age of 12.

Today I was counting up my hours for the week so far....44 hours. In 3 days. That's more than a full weeks worth of work for a full time job. I wish I was getting paid hourly.

I think it's about time for bed now. Tomorrow, Birdie rehearsals, and get this, they don't start until 9:30! I'm so excited!!! Legit! :)

Wednesday, June 30, 2010

This is the week that never ends....

So today we had a tech rehearsal of the 2 kids' shows: Annie Jr. and Thoroughly Modern Millie Jr.

I'm in charge of Stage Left during Annie Jr. meaning I get to designate who moves what where and when and moving set pieces while we're trying to keep control of 70 children under the age of 12.

Millie Jr. I'm stage managing so I call the cues for the show.

We're running both shows both nights, Annie Jr. at 6:30 and Millie Jr. at 8. With a 15 minute intermission. I don't know how that's going to work because our change over between the 2 shows takes like half an hour. So today, when we were supposed to be on our lunch break we were switching sets. No lunch for us!

Both were a very interesting experience. The tech runs went VERY well today for a tech run, each took about 2- 2 1/2-ish hours. Stressful, but definitely a good learning experience.

After rehearsals today we had a dinner break, went and did Box Office for Arsenic and then finished up any last things that had to be done on the sets. (Why we have such huge sets for a 2-day run is beyond me ha ha!) We were there until 2:30 am tonight! Woo-hoo! Get to be back at 9. Do dress rehearsals, short break, and then we OPEN!!! AH!!! Scary.

Dancing during build/paint/whatever else tonight was pretty fun and random. Also, our ANTM runway was fierce. Just sayin.

Also, pretty sure that me and my roommate Anna are being eaten alive by something in our sleep. We have bites ALL OVER US! GAH! With the bug bites and the thick layer of paint I look pretty diseased, it's not a pretty sight. Luckily I've now showered which is nice. You know you're working too much when you can't find a time to shower besides 3:30 am.

Well, I should probably get to bed now.

Goodnight. Sorry for this extremely random, boring, awkward blog-ness happening right now.

I'm tired.

Productive Sunday

I'm very pleased with how this day turned out.

-Got some much needed rest.

-Watched "A Chorus Line."

-Finished homework for Computer Info Systems.

-Made dinner for the roomies. (Homemade mashed potatoes, chicken, green beans, and salad.)

-Ate dinner with the roomies. (I love them!)

-Finished mid-term test for Computer Info Systems.

-Made a cake for Rick's birthday with the roomies.

-Made cookies.

-Updated blog.

Successful indeed. :)

Here is the cake that we made for Rick.

Long story on this one.

The pan was too small for how much cake batter there was so it bubbled over and got all over the inside of our stove. This left a chunk missing in that side of the cake, but don't worry, we just covered it up with extra frosting! :) Haha!

Next, we realized that we didn't have any birthday candles, so we took one of my small gingerbread flavored candles and stuck it on the cake.

We didn't have anything to decorate it with so we put rhinestones on it and spelled out "Happy B-Day Rick"

Rick had been building sets all day long and was ever so happy that we had surprised him with a delicious lemon cake.
This led to one of my now favorite quotes ever:
"I love this cake so much that I want to kill someone and make this my horcrux!"

Hallelujah!

And the TD looked upon the actors and saw that although they walked in light, they did walk upon a bare stage, and had no place to be, and the TD was moved to pity. And the TD said, "Let there be a Set!": and the Techies scrambled and worked, and there was a set, with platforms, wagons, stairs, and furniture of various types and sizes, each according to the need. And the actors did walk within the set, and did have a place to be. And the TD saw the set, that it was good, and the evening and the morning were the Second Day.

-From the book of Genesis in "The Techie Bible"

It is currently 2:41 am and I am just getting myself a little celebratory burrito after a nightmarish couple of weeks building the set for Arsenic. IT IS FINALLY DONE!!! Sooooooooooooo excited!

In other news, I went to the store today and got $107.65 worth of groceries. I am VERY happy about this! Now we have food to eat! Hooray! I am particularly excited about my whole wheat tortillas, apple juice, yogurt, cookie dough, TUNA!!!, cheese, peanut butter, pretty much all of it. Yup. Yes indeed.

I am extremely tired. Can my burrito be done now? Please?

Yargoltigoofenhider

So.....today in my acting classes I finished up emotional recall. We finished the Finding Emotional Triggers Exercise and did the Bye Bye Exercise. It's so weird to me how much more relaxed, vulnerable, and committed my second class is compared to my first class!

Jeremy fiqured out that I'm a capricorn with a cancer moon, or something like that. I think. Honestly, I have no idea. But anyway, just wanted to share the fact that there is a total fat joke in my horoscope. Rude. Ha ha!

On Facebook off to the side under my suggestions, there is a suggestion for The Bible: 6 friends like this. Right below it is one that says: Eminem: 8 friends like this. Eminem beat out the Bible? How depressing.

Anywho......I'm tired and should probably go to bed. ..............................yup. Pointless post. I know. Goodnight.

I'm a Human Not a Sandwich

Wow. This summer so far has been interesting for sure. Very busy, tiring, and exhausting.

Arsenic build- still blah. But we got a lot of issues worked out this week so I'm feeling much better about it. :)

Birdie- LOVING the choreography so far. Miss Amber McNew, you're wonderful and amazing and talented.

Millie Jr.- I'm surprisingly liking stage managing quite a lot. Jamie, our director, also said that if I ever decide to not do performing that I should look into Stage Managing.

Teaching classes- I am LOVING teaching my acting classes!!! I am teaching Acting: Foundations to students between the ages of 11-17, it's SOOOOO fun!!! I've been teaching for a week, so far we've covered Relaxation/Vulnerability, a LOT of Sense Memory, and Emotional Recall. This next week we're going to be working on more Emotional Recall, Objectives, Given Circumstances, and Obstacles, and workshopping and performing their final monologues!!! So excited!!!

Today has been such a fantastic day! I got to catch up on sleep first of all! When I woke up Amber made us breakfast! We went out to Flaming Gorge, the water was FREEZING, but it was still fun. :D When we got back we ordered some pizzas from Domino's. Then Beau, Jon, and Rick came over for some brownies, watched Hairspray, and played Clue. It was a very enjoyable/relaxing/much needed day. :D

Now some pictures!!!

Me and my roomies all dressed up to watch The Tony's!

Uh hey guys, we made a graveyard.

The ugliest face I have EVER made!!! I'm pretty proud.

Crystal, Anna, Amber, Me, and Austin going to the Gorge!

Longest. Week. Ever.

Ohp, awkward that this saved up here and now won't move. Well, this picture goes with a paragraph way down towards the bottom of this blog. Awkward....

So, this week has been a lot of work. Surprisingly, not as much as I expected but still very long and tiring. Me, Anna, Amber, and the tech director Austin aren't in Arsenic and Old Lace so we're the build crew for it. So for the hours that they're in rehearsals, we're in building the set. Blah. I worked 11 1/2 hours today, and 13 1/2 yesterday. Gah! I'm ready for a break.

Aside from doing tech for Arsenic and Old Lace we've been getting ready for the Summer Youth Theatre productions. I'm Stage Manager for Thoroughly Modern Millie Jr. We just had auditions yesterday. I've decided that I don't need to exercise, I can just be a stage manager because you're running around everywhere!!! Lol. Next week we start rehearsals for Bye Bye Birdie! Yay!

Aside from working, me and my roommates have finally hung up pictures ALL OVER the apartment! We have 4 different pictures frames/picture holding devices that hold lots of pictures. It's fun :) Also, whenever we are home for breaks from working The Office is constantly playing.

I've been going through an extreme tuna phase. I ate 6 cans of tuna in 3 days. Is that normal? Probably not. Oh well. :)

Sometimes life is very unfair I feel. When I die I'm going to have a little chat with the big man upstairs. First of all, is it fair that females have to have an egg thrust out of their fallopian tube each month and have up to a week of HELL??? No, don't think so. To make this little blessing even better I've had 5. In 2 months. 5 PERIODS IN 2 MONTHS!!!! Really? I mean, really? Not okay. I think I'm dying or something. I'm like a chicken, just layin' eggs all over the place. Sorry if that all was "TMI" but I don't want to hear any complaining unless you've had 5 periods in the past 2 months. Alright? Alright. :)

I wanted to put some type of picture on here of what my life has been this past week but....I don't have any pictures yet. So, here's a picture of me and my friends Jeremy and David at Lagoon a week or two ago. We're so ashian. Yes, I know I spelled it with an H. I miss them!!! They're coming up to Wyoming next week though! Yay! So excited!!! :D

In other news,we're pretty sure that my roommate Anna just got a concussion. Very amusing, but very concerning.

That's all for now.

Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica.

Back in Rock Springs

So, I'm back here up at good ol' Western Wyoming! :) We just started our training week yesterday. It'll be a fun summer, I'm stage manager for Thoroughly Modern Millie Jr. and I'm super excited! I'm also in Bye Bye Birdie. I'm literally all of the smaller older female roles. One problem with this though, in practically every scene at least 2 of my characters have lines, so I'm not sure how they're planning on making that one work but whatevs.

Can I just say that I have the BEST ROOMMATES EVER!!! Amber, Anna, and Crystal, how I adore those girls so much!

Since my last blog what have I been doing you might ask? (Okay, so you probably DIDN'T ask, but you MIGHT, right? lol) Sat around at home doing nothing, went to Jer's for the weekend and saw his show at Lagoon (so good btw), and then moved back up to Wyoming. So....yup.

That's really all I've got right now. Peace out.

I'm Not Pregnant, I'm Just Fat

I am so ready to go back to Rock Springs.

Seriously.

I hate lazy, non-productive days at home. There is nothing to do. I feel like everyone in Spanish Fork either doesn't want to hang out with me or doesn't have time to.

I miss theatre. It's only been a couple of weeks I know, but going from being surrounded by theatre every day to not at all is really depressing. I can't wait to get back up there and start working on shows. Also, I will have the BEST ROOMMATES EVER!!! Can't wait!!!

Luckily, I'm going back to good ol' Western Wyomin' on Sunday! Yay!

Things I'm looking forward to this week? Watching glee in about 10 minutes, and going to see Jer's show at Lagoon on Saturday!

I love this song! So funny! It's called "I'm Not Pregnant, I'm Just Fat" and it's sung by Carly Jibson!

Intro To My Life/Longest Post Ever

Hello there.

Good times in Rock Springs...

Me and my best friend Jeremy goofing off.

We love making people feel awkward. Seeing as we are immuned to most awkward situtions, we find it especially fun to make an awkward situation reach it's full potential and make others feel really uncomfortable. It's quite amusing. :)

Such a fun show with such great people!

How to Succeed In Business Without Really Trying
