This is the week that never ends....

So today we had a tech rehearsal of the 2 kids' shows: Annie Jr. and Thoroughly Modern Millie Jr.

I'm in charge of Stage Left during Annie Jr. meaning I get to designate who moves what where and when and moving set pieces while we're trying to keep control of 70 children under the age of 12.

Millie Jr. I'm stage managing so I call the cues for the show.

We're running both shows both nights, Annie Jr. at 6:30 and Millie Jr. at 8. With a 15 minute intermission. I don't know how that's going to work because our change over between the 2 shows takes like half an hour. So today, when we were supposed to be on our lunch break we were switching sets. No lunch for us!

Both were a very interesting experience. The tech runs went VERY well today for a tech run, each took about 2- 2 1/2-ish hours. Stressful, but definitely a good learning experience.

After rehearsals today we had a dinner break, went and did Box Office for Arsenic and then finished up any last things that had to be done on the sets. (Why we have such huge sets for a 2-day run is beyond me ha ha!) We were there until 2:30 am tonight! Woo-hoo! Get to be back at 9. Do dress rehearsals, short break, and then we OPEN!!! AH!!! Scary.

Dancing during build/paint/whatever else tonight was pretty fun and random. Also, our ANTM runway was fierce. Just sayin.

Also, pretty sure that me and my roommate Anna are being eaten alive by something in our sleep. We have bites ALL OVER US! GAH! With the bug bites and the thick layer of paint I look pretty diseased, it's not a pretty sight. Luckily I've now showered which is nice. You know you're working too much when you can't find a time to shower besides 3:30 am.

Well, I should probably get to bed now.

Goodnight. Sorry for this extremely random, boring, awkward blog-ness happening right now.

I'm tired.

Productive Sunday

I'm very pleased with how this day turned out.

-Got some much needed rest.

-Watched "A Chorus Line."

-Finished homework for Computer Info Systems.

-Made dinner for the roomies. (Homemade mashed potatoes, chicken, green beans, and salad.)

-Ate dinner with the roomies. (I love them!)

-Finished mid-term test for Computer Info Systems.

-Made a cake for Rick's birthday with the roomies.

-Made cookies.

-Updated blog.

Successful indeed. :)

Here is the cake that we made for Rick.

Long story on this one.

The pan was too small for how much cake batter there was so it bubbled over and got all over the inside of our stove. This left a chunk missing in that side of the cake, but don't worry, we just covered it up with extra frosting! :) Haha!

Next, we realized that we didn't have any birthday candles, so we took one of my small gingerbread flavored candles and stuck it on the cake.

We didn't have anything to decorate it with so we put rhinestones on it and spelled out "Happy B-Day Rick"

Rick had been building sets all day long and was ever so happy that we had surprised him with a delicious lemon cake.
This led to one of my now favorite quotes ever:
"I love this cake so much that I want to kill someone and make this my horcrux!"

Hallelujah!

And the TD looked upon the actors and saw that although they walked in light, they did walk upon a bare stage, and had no place to be, and the TD was moved to pity. And the TD said, "Let there be a Set!": and the Techies scrambled and worked, and there was a set, with platforms, wagons, stairs, and furniture of various types and sizes, each according to the need. And the actors did walk within the set, and did have a place to be. And the TD saw the set, that it was good, and the evening and the morning were the Second Day.

-From the book of Genesis in "The Techie Bible"

It is currently 2:41 am and I am just getting myself a little celebratory burrito after a nightmarish couple of weeks building the set for Arsenic. IT IS FINALLY DONE!!! Sooooooooooooo excited!

In other news, I went to the store today and got $107.65 worth of groceries. I am VERY happy about this! Now we have food to eat! Hooray! I am particularly excited about my whole wheat tortillas, apple juice, yogurt, cookie dough, TUNA!!!, cheese, peanut butter, pretty much all of it. Yup. Yes indeed.

I am extremely tired. Can my burrito be done now? Please?

Yargoltigoofenhider

So.....today in my acting classes I finished up emotional recall. We finished the Finding Emotional Triggers Exercise and did the Bye Bye Exercise. It's so weird to me how much more relaxed, vulnerable, and committed my second class is compared to my first class!

Jeremy fiqured out that I'm a capricorn with a cancer moon, or something like that. I think. Honestly, I have no idea. But anyway, just wanted to share the fact that there is a total fat joke in my horoscope. Rude. Ha ha!

On Facebook off to the side under my suggestions, there is a suggestion for The Bible: 6 friends like this. Right below it is one that says: Eminem: 8 friends like this. Eminem beat out the Bible? How depressing.

Anywho......I'm tired and should probably go to bed. ..............................yup. Pointless post. I know. Goodnight.

I'm a Human Not a Sandwich

Wow. This summer so far has been interesting for sure. Very busy, tiring, and exhausting.

Arsenic build- still blah. But we got a lot of issues worked out this week so I'm feeling much better about it. :)

Birdie- LOVING the choreography so far. Miss Amber McNew, you're wonderful and amazing and talented.

Millie Jr.- I'm surprisingly liking stage managing quite a lot. Jamie, our director, also said that if I ever decide to not do performing that I should look into Stage Managing.

Teaching classes- I am LOVING teaching my acting classes!!! I am teaching Acting: Foundations to students between the ages of 11-17, it's SOOOOO fun!!! I've been teaching for a week, so far we've covered Relaxation/Vulnerability, a LOT of Sense Memory, and Emotional Recall. This next week we're going to be working on more Emotional Recall, Objectives, Given Circumstances, and Obstacles, and workshopping and performing their final monologues!!! So excited!!!

Today has been such a fantastic day! I got to catch up on sleep first of all! When I woke up Amber made us breakfast! We went out to Flaming Gorge, the water was FREEZING, but it was still fun. :D When we got back we ordered some pizzas from Domino's. Then Beau, Jon, and Rick came over for some brownies, watched Hairspray, and played Clue. It was a very enjoyable/relaxing/much needed day. :D

Now some pictures!!!

Me and my roomies all dressed up to watch The Tony's!

Uh hey guys, we made a graveyard.

The ugliest face I have EVER made!!! I'm pretty proud.

Longest. Week. Ever.

Ohp, awkward that this saved up here and now won't move. Well, this picture goes with a paragraph way down towards the bottom of this blog. Awkward....

So, this week has been a lot of work. Surprisingly, not as much as I expected but still very long and tiring. Me, Anna, Amber, and the tech director Austin aren't in Arsenic and Old Lace so we're the build crew for it. So for the hours that they're in rehearsals, we're in building the set. Blah. I worked 11 1/2 hours today, and 13 1/2 yesterday. Gah! I'm ready for a break.

Aside from doing tech for Arsenic and Old Lace we've been getting ready for the Summer Youth Theatre productions. I'm Stage Manager for Thoroughly Modern Millie Jr. We just had auditions yesterday. I've decided that I don't need to exercise, I can just be a stage manager because you're running around everywhere!!! Lol. Next week we start rehearsals for Bye Bye Birdie! Yay!

Aside from working, me and my roommates have finally hung up pictures ALL OVER the apartment! We have 4 different pictures frames/picture holding devices that hold lots of pictures. It's fun :) Also, whenever we are home for breaks from working The Office is constantly playing.

I've been going through an extreme tuna phase. I ate 6 cans of tuna in 3 days. Is that normal? Probably not. Oh well. :)

Sometimes life is very unfair I feel. When I die I'm going to have a little chat with the big man upstairs. First of all, is it fair that females have to have an egg thrust out of their fallopian tube each month and have up to a week of HELL??? No, don't think so. To make this little blessing even better I've had 5. In 2 months. 5 PERIODS IN 2 MONTHS!!!! Really? I mean, really? Not okay. I think I'm dying or something. I'm like a chicken, just layin' eggs all over the place. Sorry if that all was "TMI" but I don't want to hear any complaining unless you've had 5 periods in the past 2 months. Alright? Alright. :)

I wanted to put some type of picture on here of what my life has been this past week but....I don't have any pictures yet. So, here's a picture of me and my friends Jeremy and David at Lagoon a week or two ago. We're so ashian. Yes, I know I spelled it with an H. I miss them!!! They're coming up to Wyoming next week though! Yay! So excited!!! :D

In other news,we're pretty sure that my roommate Anna just got a concussion. Very amusing, but very concerning.

That's all for now.

Back in Rock Springs

So, I'm back here up at good ol' Western Wyoming! :) We just started our training week yesterday. It'll be a fun summer, I'm stage manager for Thoroughly Modern Millie Jr. and I'm super excited! I'm also in Bye Bye Birdie. I'm literally all of the smaller older female roles. One problem with this though, in practically every scene at least 2 of my characters have lines, so I'm not sure how they're planning on making that one work but whatevs.

Can I just say that I have the BEST ROOMMATES EVER!!! Amber, Anna, and Crystal, how I adore those girls so much!

Since my last blog what have I been doing you might ask? (Okay, so you probably DIDN'T ask, but you MIGHT, right? lol) Sat around at home doing nothing, went to Jer's for the weekend and saw his show at Lagoon (so good btw), and then moved back up to Wyoming. So....yup.

That's really all I've got right now. Peace out.
